Meet Leslie Morris

Hello! My name is Leslie Morris and welcome to the Thrive with ADHD website. I am happy you have navigated yourself here! Let me tell you a little about my personal ADHD story.

Nearly twenty years ago, I was a Corporate Training manager by day and the single mother of a five-year-old daughter newly diagnosed with ADHD by night. Despite my experience and education with my own diagnosis with ADHD as a child and the skills I learned on my own during college and career, I felt helpless as to how to help her manage and overcome her challenges in a world way different than when I was in grade school! We muddled through and figured it out for ourselves, and she was able to graduate college with honors.  Along the way, we also found that she was gifted and had Dyslexia.  I felt I had it all together on this ADHD and LD thing until I re-married and along came a son, gifted, ADHD and ASD. The learning process got a lot steeper!

During this time of discovery for our family,  I was asked many times to share my experiences with frazzled parents and even adults who believed they had ADHD but had not been diagnosed.   I enrolled for more ADHD and Coach training with the International Coach Federation recognized training program at the International ADHD Coach Training Center.  I then began applying specific coaching techniques with my son, and even my adult daughter as she entered the work force, and saw what a positive difference it made in their lives and the overall well-being of our whole family. I knew I wanted to use this approach to help other parents, students and adults overcome their ADHD challenges, feel more confident in their abilities, and experience success.

In my spare time I am an avid outdoor person, wildlife photographer, dog trainer and all around adventure junkie!

I know there are many families and individuals who are going through what I went through. I talk with them every day, and I know they are struggling without the support and resources from professionals who really understand what ADHD is all about and don’t know how to help themselves or their loved ones. The good news is that it doesn’t have to be that way.  Your lives can change, just as it did for us.

How I Can Help

Professionally, I specialize in working with frustrated, near the end of their rope, complicated clients diagnosed with ADD/ADHD who want to finally understand how their ADHD brain works and discover effective individualized strategies to minimize their challenges and leverage their strengths. Yes, you do have strengths.  My private clients include entrepreneurs, corporate/executive level men and women, highly driven college students, adults and seniors who are wanting to work in a 360 degree holistic way with a professional ADHD Specialty Life Coach.

As a trained ADHD Life Coach (with ADHD!), former Corporate Executive and Entrepreneur, mother of one “launched” young adult with ADHD and one in college with both ADHD and Autism, I can help you unravel your challenges.  There is no “one-solution” helps all in the life of a person affected by ADHD.  I can help you understand these missing pieces so your life can be entirely different. ADHD is never the reason to not thrive and live life your own way. I can help you learn to thrive in school, work, as a parent, even with ADHD!

Affiliation

I am affiliated with several international ADHD organizations, including:  The ADHD Coaches Organization (ACO), CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder), ADDA (Attention Deficit Disorder Association).  I am also experienced with Gaming Addiction ( a battle we have fought in our own home ).  I am affiliated with Game Quitters and am a Parent Advocate for Reset Summer Camps (Clinical program for gaming/electronics addition or misuse), as well as part of  an international speaking team on the subject of Gaming Addiction.

A Little More About Me

I was born and raised in California but now live in the beautiful Treasure Valley of Idaho.  In my free time I am a professional wildlife photographer, lover family time, animals and outdoor adventure!  If I am out, I usually am usually carrying my cameras.  If I am home and not working, you can find me lowering my blood pressure by hanging with my animals, spending time with family…or both.
